Smallpools releases a new alternative pop single called “Socio Empath”. The trio made their debut in 2013 with hit single “Dreaming” and since then, they’ve gotten to play festivals like Lollapalooza and Summerfest. The band has also opened up for iconic bands like Twenty One Pilots and Walk The Moon.

This particular song discusses themes of living in a world that seems to be in a constant state of tragedy, but feeling like you can only do so much, with lyrics like “Carry on with my life / Another day, another vice / Next time, promise we’ll do better / I’ll keep buying boots and sweaters”. With the upbeat and punchy instrumental style that has become a signature of Smallpools, the band explores the idea of feeling empathy for all these tragedies while also feeling helpless, which results in us continuing to move through life in our own “selfish” bubbles.
