Dubbing themselves on TikTok as “your new fave band”, daydreamers might just be right. From across the Atlantic, the four piece indie-pop group – including Riley (vocals and guitar), Aurora (vocals and bass), Marco (guitar), and Jay (drums) – burst onto the scene, garnering listeners from all over with their easy-going melodies and songs that make you feel like you’re the main character. Their songs have quickly made their way into playlists everywhere, with their most anticipated lead single, “Call Me Up” at 6.9 million streams on Spotify, and nearly 3 million views on TikTok and Instagram.

BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop with Mollie King, featured the band’s first single “Call Me Up” in April of this year, debuting the single live on the radio. In just a matter of 4 days, the track had accumulated half a million streams. Just a few short weeks later, their second single “Beach House ” was the BBC Radio Introducing track of the week.

But what makes daydreamer’s songs so infectious? Pulling inspiration from the likes of bands such as The 1975 and Bleachers, their music feels familiar. In impressive feats, songs like “Call Me Up” feel like a first date, and “Beach House” feels like an overdue confessional, one that could only ever take place in a sandy cabin with a bonfire and toasty marshmallows. And most recently, their latest single “All I Ever Dream About” is funky and feels like starring in a romantic comedy, something that probably also stars Joseph Gordon Levitt.

In an interview with MTV Push, they described their sound in three words, choosing nostalgic, summer, and indie. It is clear that their music connects with people, that people see and hear themselves in the songs. This is what daydreamers specializes in. Though early in their music-making journey, this niche suits them and allows for each member of the band’s strengths to shine through.

As of this past spring, daydreamers has signed to Sony Music UK and has been playing festivals this summer, including Dot to Dot and BST Hyde Park, both in London. This fall, they’re set to tour with Sea Girls, you can catch them live here.
