Melodic Music Monday: July 29

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

Oliver Heldens, David Guetta, and FASTBOY, “Chills (Feel My Love)” – Back in March, Oliver and David debuted “Chills (Feel My Love)” at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. The track had a strong reaction, as its flashy synths, stirring rhythms, danceable melodies, and electric beats were too impossible to resist. Amidst it all, the verses are softer and less vibrant, offering moments of clarity before the production builds up again in the choruses. For anyone who has experienced a summer romance this season, “Chills (Feel My Love)” makes for a perfect soundtrack as lines like, “Never asked / To feel this way / And I can’t take / Another day / Without you,” wash over you.

boyhood., “wes anderson (your dog)” – “wes anderson (your dog)” showcases a new sonic direction, featuring primarily organic instrumentation and a more collaborative approach. The track highlights swirling, distorted guitar sounds from LA-based producer AYUSH and live drums from New York-based drummer Giulianna Iapalucci, also known as Rocco!. The song’s cohesive mix by Melina Duterte (Jay Som) and mastering by Nick Garcia further enhance its dynamic vocal performance.

– Joshua Madsen

——

Kevin Hill and BRYSN, “Tee Shirt” – “Tee Shirt” shows appreciation for a long-term relationship. Through light vocals and layered percussion, Kevin Hill and BRYSN share their gratitude for their lives being transformed by the people they love. The image of Kevin Hill and BRYSN giving their partners one of their shirts represents their love for their partners and the sacrifices they would make for them.

– Emma Celenza

——

Nadia Vaeh, “Rewind” – A loving homage to her late mother, Nadia Vaeh puts out her newest single. “Rewind” is about all of the experiences that Vaeh is unable to go back and experience again since her mother’s death. Vaeh is able to create immense beauty out of such a profound loss; “Rewind” is both an uplifting song about remembering the good times and also allowing herself to move forward.
