dead motel’s “Palace”: a haunting journey through struggle and resilience

Date:

Pennsylvania-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Maxwell Getz, known as dead motel, has unveiled his latest single, “Palace”. Drawing comparisons to artists like Coldplay, dead motel delivers a blend of indie rock, indie pop, and alternative rock that is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

“Palace” delves into Max’s personal battles with addiction, despite its upbeat tone. The song’s title metaphorically represents a palace with many windows, symbolizing the transparency of his struggles despite his attempts to hide them. The song is familiar, highly produced, and clean.

With “Palace” being the first single from his forthcoming full-length album, dead motel transitions from his earlier dance/electronic sound to a richer rock/indie pop style. The track is a testament to Max’s journey of self-discovery and healing, aiming to foster a connection with his audience through shared experiences.
