New York City artist Jiwon is focused on crafting authentic music for his listeners. Jiwon uses his multi-instrumental talents to blend classical and modern genres to create an eclectic sound inspired by artists such as Lou Reed and Jai Paul. His latest song, “Autograph”, focuses on being head over heels for your partner.
“Autograph” is about giving your all in a relationship. Through fun harmonies and layered percussion, Jiwon tells his partner that he would trade the world for the chance to be with them. The chorus sings, “I think I really want your photograph / Or maybe just a little autograph / But you don’t have to give my heart back” showing Jiwon’s obsession with his partner and his want to keep loving them.
Sharing more about “Autograph”, Jiwon comments:
“I made this beat on my old laptop in like 2020 and totally forgot [about] it. Then last summer I found it again and turned it into this. It’s got a little surf rock energy which I don’t [really] overlap [with] much but I still had a lot of fun with it. Who doesn’t love The Beach Boys??? Similarly to Sunshine I wasn’t trying to take it too seriously on this one but given the surfer rock pastiche I went for a more classic/vintage vocal delivery and mix. That being said, there’s still an 808 in it so it’s def a thumper.”
