StrateJacket release rallying new single “End Of Time” and announce debut album

Date:

After dropping “Bad Start” in September of last year, California alt-rock band StrateJacket have actually been off to a great start. The single has risen in popularity since its release and is currently on its way to crack the top 20 on the radio Active Rock Charts. StrateJacket, meanwhile, have gone from playing local venues in the Bay Area to rocking out at festivals like SXSW and Welcome to Rockville. Fans are loving their fiery sound, reveling in songs from the band’s self-titled EP. The project, which came out in May, contained “Bad Start,” the sleek and melodic “Be My Drug,” and three other louder-than-life tracks that build up the hype for StrateJacket’s upcoming debut album. The album, Bad Start, will be coming on October 11 and will contain all the songs heard on the EP plus six new tracks that will help listeners feel like “they’re not alone,” as previously mentioned by vocalist and bassist Fabian Angel. One of these new tracks is “End Of Time,” which the band so graciously share with us today.

Described by the press as a “chant-ready fight song,” “End Of Time” would definitely be the anthem for anyone getting ready to take charge. There is a stop-and-go feel in the verses, all punctuated by a lively ‘Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey’ refrain. As we get into this hasty, take-no-prisoners spirit, lead vocalist Jackson Roemers gives us lines like, “If it happens again / It will happen tonight / It’s a means to an end / Grab your pitchforks, we’re going to fight.” It all leads up to unique solos from each member of the band, giving them a special moment to shine while also enhancing the rambunctious attitude of the track.

About “End Of Time,” StrateJacket explain,

“The fun part about being a new band making an album is that you get to come in with a wide-eyed view and so many ideas. As a big fan of The Who, I really wanted a ‘My Generation’ structure for a song. We had these stop-and-go verses and a dueling banjos solo section for the bridge. We thought, ‘How cool. Who’s doing that these days?'”

The release of “End Of Time” and announcement of Bad Start comes just as StrateJacket are heading out on tour. They will play a brief string of shows starting July 20 in Davenport, Iowa, before concluding in Phoenix, Arizona, on July 28. They will also be performing at The X Bar in Cupertino, California, on August 23 and at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, California, on October 10. Tickets can be found here.

You can listen to “End Of Time” on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
