Melodic Music Monday: July 15

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

Haiden Henderson, “hell of a good time” – This track features an infectious shuffle beat and soaring falsetto notes that define its energetic vibe. The track serves as the debut of his full artist name project, Haiden Henderson. Throughout the track, he remains intertwined in a tumultuous relationship, acknowledging its destructive nature. Yet, he’s unable to break free and finds himself enamored by the thrill and addiction, themes which are echoed in earlier releases like “Pretty Little Addict.”

– Clare Gehlich

Katy Perry, “WOMAN’S WORLD” – “Woman’s World” approaches feminism in a direct format, simply listing off adjectives describing what Perry defines as a woman: “Sexy, confident/So intelligent/She is heaven-sent/So soft, so strong.” She bursts into proclamation on the chorus, declaring, “You better celebrate/’Cause, baby, we ain’t goin’ away/It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be livin’ in it,” assisted by thudding bass and expansive synth. The result is expertly catchy and guarantees to ring through the listeners mind for hours after listening.

– Avery Heeringa

Marco Tamimi, “One Summer” “One Summer” is a vibrant, feel-good anthem perfect for those long drives with the windows down, singing along at the top of your lungs. This single is the first release from his debut EP under Rainbow Wood Records, produced by Ed Graves and mixed by Grammy award-winning engineer Oli Jacobs. Tamimi’s influences shine through in this track, with nods to George Ezra, Counting Crows, and Natalie Imbruglia, blending contemporary indie pop with nostalgic elements from the early 2000s.

– Joshua Madsen

——

JULES IS DEAD, “Eternally (undeath)” In “Eternally (undeath)”, Jules delivers an increased emo and pop punk musicality compared to their previous releases. Calling to mind the upbeat composition of “Spells and Power Thoughts” and staying true to the high energy of “My Own Hell”, “Eternally (undeath)” is a full throttle, enchanting track that conveys the tale of a deadly and romantic love story.
