Stockholm-based artist Vilhelm Buchaus has released an evocative new track titled “Dying Light”. Known for his unique blend of pop rock, dream pop, and alternative rock, Buchaus continues to captivate audiences with his heartfelt lyrics and rich musical arrangements. Born in 2001, Buchaus’s biggest inspirations as an artist are John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Ed Sheeran, and The 1975.
“Dying Light” is a grand ballad that beautifully encapsulates the longing and nostalgia of growing up in a small town with big dreams. The song follows the release of his rock-infused single “Snow In The Summer” and is another taste from his highly anticipated debut EP, set for release this fall via the German label Guesstimate, under exclusive license from TEN Records.
The new track, produced by Jacob Werner and co-written by Buchaus, Werner, and Amanda Kongshaug, showcases a timeless rock ballad style reminiscent of ’80s legends like Bon Jovi and Aerosmith. The lyrics reflect Buchaus’s personal experiences and dreams, offering listeners a poignant glimpse into his life and artistic vision. Buchaus elaborates:
“’Dying Light’ is a song I wrote about growing up and longing for something more in life. I grew up in a small town and have always felt limited by the repetitive and safe everyday life that comes with it. Much of the longing for something else that I felt as a child has gone into the writing and inspired, among other things, this song.”
Vilhelm Buchaus’s journey began on YouTube, where he shared both covers and original songs, quickly gaining a dedicated following. His official debut came in 2023 with the single “First Cut”, and since then, he has released a steady stream of music that resonates with listeners worldwide. His tracks often explore themes of loneliness and the search for meaning, with songs like “Together”, “Take Me To The Moon”, and “Nothing At All” standing out as particularly impactful.
With his pleasant voice and skillful guitar playing, Buchaus continues to explore new musical destinations in 2024. His debut EP promises to be a collection of songs that reflect his artistic growth and emotional depth. As we await the full release, “Dying Light” offers a glimpse into the depth and breadth of Buchaus’s talent.
