Leah Mason delivers one of her most vulnerable singles with “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”

Date:

So far, 2024 has been coming up roses for Leah Mason. She hit the ground running in February with the release of “YOUR BOYFRIEND SUCKS,” a cheeky anthem about listening to your friends when they tell you to dump your boyfriend. The single was the beginning of a new pop-focused sound for the singer, who had previously made waves in the country realm with songs like “Trust Fund Cowboy” and “Honeydew & Hennessy.” In April, Leah followed up “YOUR BOYFRIEND SUCKS” with “Klepto,” which packed a playful punch to a friend who desperately wanted Leah’s life. Leah’s latest single “Midas Touch” dropped a few weeks ago, further promoting the themes and sounds we can expect from her debut album, HEXED, which is set to be released in August. With a little over a month to go, Leah is ready to keep the hype going with “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.”

A sweeping piano ballad, “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” is one of Leah’s most vulnerable and heartfelt singles to date. Her vocals shine over the emotive piano chords, commanding listeners to take in their dreamy and expressive quality. She is quiet but confident as she sings, “I lost my head / Maybe it’s for the best / ‘Cause I don’t wanna fight no more / Lay my white flag at the shore” and “I know that everything’s gonna be alright,” ready to do accept and embrace her feelings. Overall, it is a form of encouragement to those who are looking for the strength to let go.

About the single, Leah shares,

“I’m a pro at masking my emotions and suppressing my feelings until I can deal with them later. But the thing about emotions is they don’t wait for the most convenient time to bubble to the surface. This song is about surrendering to your mind and acknowledging how you’re feeling. Truthfully, that’s the only way to start the healing process.”

“Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” is the latest single from Leah’s upcoming debut album, HEXED, out August 9. The album was created last year when Leah ventured to Sweden to work with producer and songwriter Simon Jonasson. Together, they ended up with a moving collection of pop songs over the course of two and a half weeks. The final product, HEXED, will contain 12 of these songs that expand upon the wonders of young adulthood while also containing the playful yet earnest style we have heard in Leah’s past few singles.

You can listen to “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
