North Carolina native and rising singer-songwriter Christina Munsey just released her newest single, “muscle memory”. Known for captivating musical storytelling, soulful vocals, and heartfelt lyrics, Munsey has created a piece that is difficult not to love.
Munsey’s career took off when she scored her song “Give Me a Minute” onto the hit Netflix series Love is Blind. Since then, she has not looked back. She has earned spots on Shazam’s Top 100 Chart and Canada’s Top 200 Chart, along with 35 other top charts internationally.
“muscle memory” is already listed as Munsey’s second most popular song on her Spotify profile. The song features soft guitar chords and Munsey’s velvety voice. She tells a story about how a relationship has changed over time, and how it is rapidly losing its meaning. She sings, “We stopped feeling and time / Caught up to it / Now we go day to day / And it all seems the same”.
Munsey elaborated on the song’s meaning via an Instagram post that read:
“I’ve been reworking muscle memory for over a year now. I’ve learned that sometimes you need to take a break from a song to figure out where to take it. This one is about how relationships can easily migrate to be on autopilot. Sometimes we get too used to the other person and stop trying. hope this resonates with someone.”
