David Kushner announces debut album ‘The Dichotomy’ out Aug. 30 and North American tour

Date:

Emerging artist and TikTok singer David Kushner has announced his debut album, The Dichotomy, scheduled for release on Aug. 30 through Miserable Music Group, and will include his hit single “Daylight,” released in April 2023.

The Dichotomy will include 17 tracks, featuring his latest single “Humankind.” The song delves into Kushner’s personal experiences with church trauma and serves as a critique of human nature and society as a whole. It explores themes such as hypocrisy in religious practices, materialism, the commercialization of ideals and humanity’s struggle to have kindness and goodness.

“This project has been a long time coming and I’m excited I finally get to share it with all of you,” Kushner said. “I wanted to depict humankind’s struggle between light and darkness. It’s something that all of us feel in our own way, and certainly something I feel daily.”

Kushner, 23, initially came to prominence for his song “Miserable Man,” which he released in 2022; the song went viral on TikTok, reaching the top 40 in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. “Miserable Man” and follow-up hit single “Mr. Forgettable” appeared on his debut EP, Footprints I Found (2022). Within a year of releasing music, he received 556 million streams and now has garnered more than 21 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
