Suki Waterhouse to release new album ‘Memoir of a Sparklemuffin’ on Sept. 13

Date:

Two years after the release of her debut album I Can’t Let Go (2022), English singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse will release her new album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, which is scheduled to come out on Sept. 13.

Preorder Memoir of a Sparklemuffin now.

What is the Sparklemuffin? The Sparklemuffin is a colorful, dancing spider, and its mate will cannibalize it if she doesn’t approve of the dance. According to Waterhouse, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin is “a metaphor for the dance of life we’re all in.”

In a post on Instagram, Waterhouse wrote, “Feels surreal to finally be able to bring this world to you that I’ve been living in for the past year & even more insane to be touring these songs I love to much in the fall. Supersad out nowww.”

The forthcoming album will be an 18-track double album that will feature the new single “Supersad.” “Supersad” delves into Waterhouse’s emotional struggles as she faces lingering feelings of sadness. But it’s within those deep states of sadness, Waterhouse finds the strength to bound back.

“I tried to write a nineties song you could hear playing at the mall in ‘Clueless’ or as an opening track for ‘Legally Blonde,’” she said about the new single.
