RiotFest is back for a new year, new lineup, and new location! The festival is moving to Seatgeek Stadium in Bridgeview, IL on September 20th, 21st and 22nd. Boasting an amusement park-esque theme titled Riotland, this year’s festival is set to feature incredible artists including headliners Fall Out Boy, Beck and Slayer. Other artists set for RiotFest include The Offspring, St. Vincent, Oliver Tree, Sublime, Rob Zombie, Public Enemy, Hot Mulligan, New Found Glory, State Champs, and many more!
Founded in 2005 in Chicago, Riot Fest is a multi-day music festival specializing in punk, rock, alternative, metal, and hip-hop. The three day festivalalso features a variety of carnival rides, food vendors, sideshow performers, and more.
The 2024 festival was previously scheduled for the same dates at Douglass Park. Douglass Park has been the hub of Riot Fest Chicago since 2015, hosting artists such as Foo Fighters, Weezer, The Cure, and My Chemical Romance. In a statement, RiotFest owner and co-founder, Michael Petryshyn, also known as Riot Mike, says that the decision to move from the space came down to disagreements between festival organizers, neighbors, and local officials. “..It became evident that change was needed. Riot Fest will be leaving Douglass Park. And — allow me to be as clear as the azure sky of the deepest summer — our exodus is solely because of the Chicago Park District. Their lack of care for the community, you and us ultimately left us no choice.” Petryshyn also assures that Riot Fest is “not abandoning the community here … we’re taking them on our journey, as well.”
With the move to Seatgeek Stadium, RiotFest boasts “easy accessibility via the CTA ‘L’ train, ample on-site parking, and a spacious rideshare zone”, as well as padded turf fields, to “enjoy the lushness of grass minus the traditional festival mud pit”.
RiotFest’s website is already stocked with important information about the location switch, including the addition of parking, Metro and ticket information. Festival goers can purchase GA, VIP, Deluxe, and Deluxe+ three-day and two-day passes now at https://riotfest.org/chicago/tickets/.
