Hanson to celebrate ‘Underneath’ album with deluxe 20th anniversary edition, announce Underneath: Experience Tour this fall

Date:

Grammy Award-nominated pop rock trio Hanson, a group of three brothers, are set to release the deluxe 20th anniversary edition of their first indie record, Underneath, on Oct 4.

Preorder Unearth (20th Anniversary) now.

This edition will feature seven rare tracks from the original sessions and two brand new recordings, including the new single “Penny & Me (Moonlight Version)”, a newly recorded version of the beloved hit. The making of the original record served as the primary subject of Hanson’s documentary film, Strong Enough to Break.

The music video for “Penny & Me” features Samaire Armstrong, reprising her role as Penny from the original music video, along with Taylor Hanson’s daughter, Penelope Hanson, introducing Penny to a new generation of Hanson fans.

Isaac Hanson elaborated on the album and “Penny and Me,” saying:

“This album is very personal to us. and we are really inspired by the fresh recording of ‘Penny and Me’, which we feel brings even deeper emotional weight to this song about the power of music and connection.”

Taylor Hanson added to the personalization and intimacy in the album:

“Underneath represented a bold new chapter for the band which sparked a powerful connection between our band and fans around the world, who helped re-define a new generation of independent music releases.”
