MONTE Takes Us For a Wild Ska-Inspired Spin on New Single “Control”

Date:

MONTE is a Brooklyn-based punk trio taking an unexpected turn into the realm of ska on their latest single “Control”. An ode to 90’s ska punk, MONTE pays homage to idols among the likes of No Doubt, The Dance Hall Crashers, Operation Ivy and NOFX while mixing in their own original twist. “Control” is a punchy, mischievous track poking fun at a former flame’s controlling antics.

“Control” is bursting with metamorphic riffs, feverishly fast bass lines, and a supercharged vocal from lead singer Caitlin Montclare. She sings, “She’ll chew you up and spit you out and leave you in the dust / She wants control!” Directed and edited by Montclare, the music video follows a snooty socialite portrayed as a puppet who causes a scene with her vexing attitude. “Control” is an enthralling saga that gets revenge on the people in life who push us down with witty lyrics that hit like a suckerpunch.
MONTE is raising the stakes in preparation for the release of their debut full-length album set for release this year. “Control” is a fresh and exciting offering from the band as they lean into their ability to experiment with genre.
