Best known as charlieonnafriday, singer-songwriter Charlie Finch just released his latest single, “Warning Shot”, ahead of his highly anticipated debut album, which he said is coming soon. Finch skyrocketed to the spotlight during the 2020 pandemic, when he documented his life on TikTok and other social media platforms. Since then, he’s signed with Island Records and has released numerous hits, leading to tours with Macklemore, Tate McRae, and Jessie Murph.
At just 21 years old, Finch’s talents have not gone unrecognized. Billboard described him as “intoxicating… a rising artist”, and People Magazine said “it’s clear that [he] has a keen sense of the recipe for his success”.
“Warning Shot” comes after Finch’s success with the release of “When I’m Leavin’”, which received 1.5 million Spotify streams and 217,000 views of the official music video on YouTube.
About his newest track, Finch said:
“‘Warning Shot’ is a metaphor for the end of a relationship… you wish you had a heads up, but you’re stuck with the feeling of the rug being pulled out from under you. The only thing that’ll make you feel better is a round of shots at the bar with the homies.”
The song is an impressive example of Finch’s musical versatility. Finch intertwines pop, country, and hip-hop, using acoustic guitar over a snappy beat while he sings about the emotions felt after an unexpected breakup.
Finch recently returned home from supporting Tate McRae in Europe on her Think Later World Tour, and will rejoin her in Australia and New Zealand in November.
