Brett Altman’s “Just Like You” Pays Homage to an Unknown Idol

Date:

After singing publicly for the first time at only twenty years old, Brett Altman‘s love of music has taken him around the world. Born and raised in New Jersey, Brett’s musical influences include his crooner father and his mother’s love for pop rock hooks. His latest single, “Just Like You,” is a feel-good pop anthem inspired by a chance encounter with one of his songwriting idols.

This track, dedicated to all the heroes in our lives, is the fifth single from his upcoming album, My Way Out.

“Just Like You” invites listeners to reflect on their life paths and aspirations. The song blends pop beats with soulful lyrics, creating a sound that is both inspiring and introspective. The melody draws you in, leading into Brett’s warm vocals. The lyrics, rich with personal reflections and universal themes, encourage listeners to think about the heroes who have shaped their lives and the kind of person they strive to become.

Altman’s attempt at blending genres is evident in his discography. Previous songs are reminiscent of young John Mayer whereas “Just Like You” brings a very pop-heavy feel. The chorus is uplifting with a catchy hook, and the production is polished but does not drown out Altman’s gifted vocals.

The instrumental arrangement adds vibrant energy, contrasting with the reflective verses. This dynamic interplay mirrors the song’s theme of growth and self-discovery. Brett’s voice, reminiscent of early Justin Timberlake or Jason Mraz, aptly conveys the song’s message of hope and inspiration.

Brett Altman’s dedication to his craft shines through in “Just Like You”. As he continues to evolve as an artist, this single marks a significant step forward, showcasing his growth and versatility. Fans can look forward to the release of My Way Out and the LP release shows in NYC, LA, and Nashville this summer.
