Tataetano’s Debut Album “MaloKhali Rising” Delivers a Unique Blend of Indie and Electronica

Date:

Bay Area singer-songwriter Antonio Palazzo, known by his stage name Tataetano, has recently released his debut full-length album, “MaloKhali Rising.”

This collection of 10 tracks features a distinctive blend of Indie Adult Alternative music, thematically centered around awakening and inspiration.

“MaloKhali Rising” delves into embracing the empty spaces between life’s negative and positive transitions.

Tataetano explains:

“In Northern Indian music philosophy, ‘Khali’ means space, silence, or empty, describing the pause between two beats where rhythm is born. ‘Malo’ in Tongan means ‘thank you.’ To me, MaloKhali means finding and embracing the empty space between when one part of life (usually negative) ends and another (positive) begins and being grateful for that. So, Malokhali Rising is the state of mind in which this occurs.”

The album includes a variety of tracks that embody this concept, with “Down Here” standing out.

A great wide darkness swallows me
There’s a trillion stars above every tree
I’m not yet tame but I am small
The voice I lost shouts “fu-k” em all

A strange new breath I feel
Down here

A sunrise spills light on the night
A spirit’s shook by a thunder strike
Above the ocean of oxygen
Lives worlds our minds have never been

Tataetano’s music uniquely combines alternative rock elements with synths and electronica, creating a fresh California sound. Notable tracks include “You Are My Friend” and “A Day in Harmony,” which feature a mellow electronica vibe. “The Pain I Take” is marked by punchy rock beats and percussion.

The album’s overall instrumentation merges modern electronic sounds with organic hand drums and ancient percussive instruments, creating a very distinctive sound.

Alongside this debut album, Tataetano has released a poetry book called “Borrowed Eden,” which mirrors the emotional depth of his music.
