Bermuda Search Party explodes into summer with new music video for “Asking 4 A Friend”

Date:

Founded in Boston at Berkeley College of Music, Bermuda Search Party puts out “Asking 4 A Friend” to usher in the summer season. “Asking 4 A Friend” is their first release after their debut LP, Melancholy Flowers, produced by Eric Palmquist.

Bouncy instrumentals play into a juxtaposition of sound and lyrics. The lyrics tell the story of someone stuck between opening up or remaining closed off, while the upbeat sound emphasizes a silver lining. The band describes the song as being about “looking for connection and accepting the fleetingness of life.”

The music video follows a group of masked musicians abducting a passerby to help alleviate their loneliness. Singer-songwriter and guitarist for the group, Leo Son, said that the video is a more literal representation of the song’s title with “a group of mysterious masked kidnappers abducting Leo because they want a new friend.”
