Norwegian pop singer Christine Ekeberg’s vocals shine brightly in her latest track “Kids In Love,” as she navigates adulthood and adolescence all wrapped in one.
Ekeberg’s musical journey began at the age of 12, competing in singing contests and participating in performing arts shows. Since then, she has remained an active songwriter, aiming to capture the hearts of her listeners after releasing her 2018 single “Under Water.” Her musical style draws clear inspiration from the early 2010s era of Demi Lovato.
As we get older, there comes a time in all of our lives where we must close a chapter of our lives and move on. For Ekeberg, she struggles with this dichotomy as she celebrates her future and where she is now, but reminisces on her past self.
She sings, “I guess we made it / Celebrate it / Not be frustrated,” before pronouncing that she “just wants to be kids in love.”
The song beautifully encapsulates the effervescent struggle to move forward in a difficult time in one’s life. We can all relate to that. Sometimes we just want to sit back, relax and be “kids in love.”
