Faint Halos’ Delivers New Single “Something To Lose”

Date:

Paul Hashemi

Faint Halos, led by the talented musician Paul Hashemi, is back with a captivating new single titled “Something To Lose”. This marks the first step in their journey towards their upcoming album, I can see a million lights. And the track has already achieved more than 10,000 streams on Spotify!

“Something to Lose” is a departure from from their original modern rock sound, embracing a more intimate, acoustic atmosphere that reveals the soulful, funky essence of the song. Hashemi’s vocals are sincere and delve into themes of uncertainty in the realm of lost love and introspection.

“After releasing the original version in 2022, I wanted to get out of the studio and play live, starting with my solo acoustic set. I discovered that this song – which began life as a synth-based rock anthem – had a tender, almost folky dimension underneath.”

Drawing inspiration from rock legends of the past while infusing a contemporary edge, the stripped-down acoustic arrangement allows the emotional core of the lyrics to shine through. Innovative production techniques, including using a sofa as a kick drum and incorporating the melodic charm of the accordion, add depth and complexity to the track.

The upcoming album I can see a million lights explores introspective themes of adulthood, parenting, and societal dynamics, with poignant lyrics and musical arrangements that cross genres from pop rock to folk.

Paul Hashemi is a Philadelphia-based singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. His earlier musical pursuits were shaped by formal training in classical piano, viola, and violin and he later immersed himself in the vibrant music scene of the 1990’s touring the East Coast college and club circuit with various rock bands.
