Weekly Roundup April 22

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions on our Weekly Roundup Spotify Playlist and read about them below.

Knox- “Change Your Mind” “Change Your Mind” is a little different from his previous releases as it is reminiscent of Mumford & Sons with its fast-paced, folk-rock inspiration with his captivating blend of alt-pop vibes and heartfelt lyrics.

-Victoria Goodwin

——

Taylor Swift- “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” What was once love turns into loss, which leaves an indelible mark on your heart. It becomes something you cannot seem to shake. With the flashing lights and sold-out shows, she says she was only “faking it until she made it” in “I Can Do It With A Broke Heart.” Even with a facade, Swift capitalized on emotion and humor, continuing to echo words of frustration throughout the album.

-Claire Gehlich

Gold Stars For Everyone- “Parallax” “Parallax” might not be a word you’re familiar with, but this song should definitely be on your rotation. On the surface, this track is a feel-good song. It’s one of those songs that you’ll listen to with full blast through your headphones as you walk down the sidewalk to the beat. The reverb on the guitars and vocals adds dimension to the track, almost giving you the feeling like you’re listening to this track in an echoic empty room. This song sounds like it could easily land on a Passion Pit or Phoenix record, yet its sparks of character within production and vocals give the song so much personality and uniqueness.

-Caroline Speer

——

Tessa Dalton- “One More Night” Dalton’s debut single, “One More Night” is heartfelt, sad and honest, and she manages to seamlessly capture raw emotions in her songwriting. It’s evident that her passion for music will continue to resonate with bigger audiences.
