Petric take us on a heartfelt ride with their self-titled EP

Date:

No matter where you live, you can feel the joy of country trio Petric. In 2021, their album Flashbacks racked up 3 million streams online and introduced them to new fans all over the world. Since then, the takeover has been strong, with 2022’s “Flirtin’” reaching as high as #23 on the country radio charts in Australia. At over 15 million worldwide streams, Petric show that their music simply knows no bounds, as listeners can connect with their songs not just geographically but also emotionally. As they get ready to bring their music to life for fans this summer on tour, Petric give us their self-titled EP, which contains their latest hit, “Over A Girl,” along with two new tracks.

Petric take us on a fun and heartfelt ride with this EP, starting with “Over A Girl.” A charming country pop jam, “Over A Girl” is all about the rush of falling hard for someone. Throughout the track, lead vocalist Tom Petric sings about ditching his friends for the new girl in his life, spending all his savings on her, and how she infiltrates his thoughts 24/7. He claims he will never get over her, and we believe him. Petric follow up this love song with what they describe as “one of the greatest love songs of all time.” Over the years, Bonnie Tyler’s “The Best” has been covered by many artists and featured in countless movies and television shows, its timeless messages speaking to generations young and old. For their cover, Petric give the song a country makeover, complete with moody guitar twangs and impassioned vocals. If you had not heard the song before, you would think this was an original; it suits them well. The EP closes with a new track, “Wheels,” which is full of freedom and nostalgia. Over a full band sound, Tom showcases the lower tones of his voice, the deeper hues adding depth to this summer anthem. As he reflects on that feeling of getting your license for the first time, he sings, “16 and freedom / You never forget the way that feels / It’s how you get the girl / How you get the world in the palm of your hand,” lost in the possibilities.

Telling us more about the EP, Petric share,

“It’s been a few years since we’ve put out more than just a single. We have some shows this summer that we’re really excited about, and we wanted to get this collection out to bring it on tour! There is lots of energy in these songs, and we hope everyone loves listening to them and singing along as much as we love performing them!”

You can listen to Petric on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
