English indie-rock quartet Glass Animals announced their fourth studio album I Love You So F***ing Much after posts of the title began to appear in major cities. Between website changes, single snippet posts and “Desperately Seeking Dave” ads in local newspapers last week, the band released their single “Creatures in Heaven” on April 3, alongside the announcement of their album, set for release on July 19, 2024 via Republic Records.

The band consists of Dave Bayley (vocals, guitar, keyboards, drums, songwriting), Drew MacFarlane (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Edmund Irwin-Singer (bass, keyboards, backing vocals) and Joe Seaward (drums).

The band is best known for their hit single “Heat Waves,” which was released in 2021 and subsequently went viral on TikTok. The song partly became the inspiration for I Love You So F***ing Much after Bayley struggled with the toll of fame and an existential crisis. The album title is about the power and mystery of human connection in a small world.

“I LOVE you so f***ing MUCH. These words take on a different meaning every time you say them. The universe may make us feel overwhelmingly small, but we have this human connection that is far vaster and more mysterious. Love comes in an infinite number of forms and shapes and sizes. It is so complex, and so powerful that even witnessing the tiniest instance of it can change your life forever.” – Dave Bayley
