Punk rockers Millie Manders and The Shutup are gearing up for the release of their latest single, “Angry Side”, a cathartic exchange with our teenage self.

Explosive from the get go, “Angry Side” is an aggressive punk track at heart. From the catchy guitar riffs to Millie Manders’ powerful vocals, the song captures you with ease; the addition of the horns give it an almost nostalgic vibe. The intensity of the words is carried by the energetic sound, crafting a true coming of age anthem.

Millie Manders elaborates on the meaning of the song, “‘Angry Side’ is, I guess, a letter to my teenage self apologizing for being so angry and wanting to burn down the world. (…) I suppose it’s also me telling my younger self that it’s OK to have been that angry when I went through a bunch of trauma that I couldn’t process well enough to deal with it all“. The vulnerability in “Angry Side” brings us to that point in time where we also felt extreme rage, which makes it both deeply personal and universally relatable.
