There’s room for 1980s disco music with Louie Rubio’s music. Rubio’s latest release “Black & Blues” captures this nostalgic feeling but with an edge. “Black & Blues” is an unapologetic representation of Rubio. Following the releases of singles like “Mar y Sol” and “Find Your Light,” Rubio found himself on Rolling Stone Espanol’s “Artists You Should Know” and Rolling Stone Argentina’s “Nueva Musica Ahora” Spotify playlist. “Mar y Sol” is his most streamed song on Spotify, with more than 100,000 listens.

“Black & Blues” is an indie-dance track that exudes this sense of urgency for the future in whatever capacity. Rubio’s smooth, airy vocals exude soul at its finest. The track makes you excited, wanting to dance at a 1980s jazz club. With soft guitar, rhythmic clapping mixed with a light drum beat, Rubio’s “Black & Blues” is one to listen to for its breezy, nostalgic feeling.
