Ketu - "Daybreak (Acoustic)"

Anthony Ketuojor Ikediuba — also known as Ketu — is a Nigerian artist, designer and singer-songwriter who immigrated to Texas in 2001 and began to uncover his love for the arts. Before venturing into his own music career, he designed motion graphics, cover art and logos for notable musical acts, including Khalid and Lil Nas X.

In his own music, Ketu finds inspiration from artists such as Coldplay, Corinne Bailey Rae and The Script. His introspective lyricism, built over the years through authentic relationships, has become a huge part of his musical journey so far. Ketu’s desire to create music rooted in genuineness and shaped by meaningful connections has allowed him to be vulnerable in his music.

Ketu’s latest venture, “Daybreak – Acoustic,” delves into the realm of uplifting gospel music evoking the soulful vocals of Canadian R&B artist Daniel Caesar. The song takes a gentle, reflective approach, infused with elements of gospel. Inspired by the biblical verse Psalm 30:5, it’s part of Ketu’s latest EP, Ano-Ele Acoustic, serving as a reminder of the brighter days that lie ahead. “Daybreak – Acoustic” offers listeners an ethereal and calming experience, showcasing Ketu’s deep connection to spirituality and God and his ability to lift the spirits of others.

“Daybreak – Acoustic” serves as the concluding track on the album following the emotional turmoil of the previous tracks on the EP.

“‘Daybreak’ is a psalm to me,” Ketu said. “I felt like the EP needed a positive ending after ‘Rain On Me.’ Something to lift people’s spirits, and this is what came up.”

Even in the darkest of hours, there is still some hope we can cling to. Whether it’s by way of religion or sheer belief, we all must believe in something. Ketu finds his love in God to be a way to lift spirits in “Daybreak – Acoustic,” emphasizing the beautiful and dreamy musical atmosphere the song possesses.
