Dynamic rock duo from Los Angeles, Loveless, have released their first track of 2024, “Addicted.” Mixing the perfect amount of emo, grunge, and dream-pop, the duo showcases their versatility while the vocals soar above the instrumentals.

The song’s central refrain, “I don’t like what I’ve become,” encapsulates the sentiment of recognizing one’s own flaws while noticing the familiar, yet destructive patterns.

The accompanying music video, as described by Julian Comeau, provides a visually arresting narrative that aligns seamlessly with the song’s themes.

“In a world full of generic warehouse performance music videos it’s always fun to break up that monotony. We’re at a wild time where music is being pulled from the biggest platform in the world and artist control is at the forefront of discussion, especially when it comes to other people’s idea of what an artist should do or be, so this video feels especially timely.

It’s exploring the darker side of how it can feel as an artist, going into these rooms with big execs where nothing is quite as it seems. Feeling trapped, either by yourself or others, in a dream that can feel like a nightmare, which has a lot of parallels to the lyrics of the song itself and its themes of blame and self-sabotage.”

As Loveless prepares to embark on an extensive North American tour and make appearances at festivals like Reading & Leeds, “Addicted” solidifies Loveless’ position as an act to watch in the alternative music scene in 2024.
