Lucy McWilliams sings a siren spell in “Old Ways”

Lucy McWilliams is a Berlin-based singer-songwriter looking to expand the expectations of those in her genre. In her discography, you’ll hear influences from rock, pop, alternative, and R&B that form together to create something that is uniquely her own. Lucy began her discography with “Fair Play” in 2020, which since then has garnered over 11 million streams on Spotify. Now, she’s gearing up for the release of her debut EP, Third Second Chance, and she’s planning on celebrating by having 2 back-to-back headline shows in London & Dublin.

The second single from Third Second Chance that you’ll hear is “Old Ways”– a song that hooks you in from the start. “Old Ways” begins softly, with dream-like instrumentation and McWilliams’s soft melodies. Once we reach the chorus, the song gets bigger, heavier, and far more emotional. This track is about letting yourself move on from whatever it is that’s holding you back, so it’s fitting that the bridge is dark, dramatic, and captivating overall. Third Second Chance was produced by Zach Dawes, who’s collaborated with artists such as Lana Del Rey & Artic Monkeys. The echoic nature of these two artists definitely translates into Lucy’s sound, and we can’t wait to hear more of it on Third Second Chance.
