Conversations in one’s head are a hard pill to swallow at any age. Some talk to themselves, others find ways to express their emotions through cathartic and creative ways. Indie-pop artist Levi Evans seamlessly does both.
In a world where melodies are woven into our world so easily, Evans first began writing music at the tender age of 16, with a desire to turn emotions into musical notes. Following the release of his first solo project in 2021, Evans is now releasing his debut EP Head Chatter.
Evans released his newest indie-pop single, “Getting Over It,” which is one of the EP’s standout tracks, with the project encompassing this vulnerability and openness more than ever before. This is evident through his musical style and off-kilter alternative indie-pop sound.
“I have come to realize that that guy who was making that music, was this necessary alter-ego, — like, it was me, but I wasn’t coming to terms with my insecurities — and it was those insecurities that I really needed to speak to at that time,” Evans said.
Evans sings about his insecurities in “Getting Over It,” emerging as a compelling storyteller whose ability to paint us a vivid picture of his internal struggles paves the way for indie-pop stardom.
