Since 2018, Sammy Rae & The Friends have been adored by fans for their fusion of soul, jazz, and rock. The seven-piece band fronted by singer/songwriter Sammy Rae come together to put on live shows that are full of energy, audience interaction, and smiles all around. The band is about to kick off their “Camp” headline tour that runs from February to March, playing notable venues such as The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. You can find ticket information here.
The band’s newest single, “Coming Home Song” feels like giving yourself a big hug. The lyrics are about being kind to yourself, and finding a home within yourself and your community. The intro melody sounds reminiscent of early swing & blues, and the instrumentation slowly builds throughout the song. Sammy Rae always does her background vocals so much justice, providing beautiful harmonies to complement the orchestral arrangement going on right beneath her voice. And of course, no Sammy Rae song is complete without an impressive vocal riff or saxophone solo. Don’t miss out on hearing this new single live on the “Camp” tour!
