Animals In Denial’s New Single Release “Inside Of Me” – An Ode to Resilience

Date:

In the world of rock music, Christian Imes, also known as Animals in Denial, emerges as a powerful force, and his latest track, “Inside Of Me Revisited” shows his resilience and innovation.

Released on January 19th, this song unveils a journey that initially presents itself as a fierce burst of noise, but ultimately reveals a life-affirming culmination of years of tenacity against the odds.

Imes, navigating life with Asperger’s Syndrome, has not let this condition hinder him; instead, it has further fuelled his passion for music.

From self-taught guitar playing at 14 to mastering bass, drums, and synthesizer programming, Imes demonstrates remarkable fortitude in the complexity of “Inside Of Me.” This one-man show in the studio is a true labor of love, reflecting his dedication to crafting a unique blend of rock, metal, and pop-punk elements.

The track combines deep synth beats and frenetic drum patterns, creating a chaotic backdrop for Imes’ piercing vocals. It constantly keeps the listener questioning its genre, residing somewhere between metal, rock, and pop-punk – a niche that Imes has ingeniously carved for himself.

Influenced by artists like Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, and Smashing Pumpkins, “Inside Of Me” is unmistakably Christian’s creation, highlighting his ability to transcend influences and create a sound that is uniquely his own.

Christian says:

“I wanted the song to punch hard with the guitars but still have a good groove and EDM vibe to it. Initially it started as a love letter to a girl, that fizzled out before I finished the song, but I loved the song so much that I dedicated it as a love letter to the music force itself. So, a rocking banger of a tune that I hope makes people feel good!”

“Inside of Me” is a collaboration with Steven Seibold of Hate Dept / Pigface. Seibold taught Imes a lot about music production, mainly mixing and mastering, as well as being a great friend and guide.

Imes also uses AI to assist with the production, saying:

” It’s much like having a producer, mixing and mastering engineer in the room with me at all times! That’s what you’ll hear on the revisited series releases, but after that I’m also using it to write new songs. I get the AI to play some part I describe and I just jam along with the first thing that I hear in my head and we jam for a bit and then the other parts just jump out at me … It’s really a quick process and as of now I have over 900 pieces of new music brewing with no signs of slowing down. I mean sometimes it can be as simple as having the AI generate a texture or a simple bass groove to a drum beat, and the ideas come flooding in.”

Beyond his musical talents,  Imes’ story adds an extra layer of depth. Living with Asperger’s, his journey is a beautiful narrative of passion and pride, encapsulated in a concise two minutes and forty-six seconds of music.

With over a dozen tracks released in the past half-decade, “Inside Of Me” feels like the culmination of Imes’ ongoing pursuit of perfection, signalling a sense of completeness in his musical journey.

This track is not just about overcoming challenges; it’s an invitation to explore a unique musical landscape, where emotions and experiences find expression through a language that goes beyond words. “Inside Of Me” promises to captivate musical expression as well as being very inspiring.
