In 2018, Robin Lundbäck began a career as a solo artist after touring the world and performing with his brothers in the Swedish boy band JTR. As Boy In Space, he released hits like “Forever Young” and “7UP,” and has teamed up with notable artists for fiery collaborations like “Paradise” with Alan Walker and K-391. Fans have fallen for his unique voice and distinct writing style, which is why Boy In Space has over half a billion streams on Spotify alone. After going through a period that Robin describes as “the best and worst years of my life,” he is returning with a new team, a new image, and plenty of new music. He begins this new era with “Atom Bomb.”
On “Atom Bomb,” we hear the ways a relationship can explode and consume. Set against a lilting riff that festers and blooms throughout the track, Boy In Space’s stirring pop vocals bring forth the dynamics of love. The love that is often found and shared in relationships can hit unexpectedly, like when Boy In Space is “Slow dancing on your bed / Kissing you to Coldplay.” Other times, it can lead to “Fighting in the backseat / Saying things we don’t mean.” In the end, we accept that “Love is like an atom bomb,” unsure of when and where it will go off.
Telling us more about “Atom Bomb,” Boy In Space shares,
“Coming from a post-apocalyptic part of my life, it felt natural to write a song with the tone ‘Atom Bomb’ has. Writing the lyrics, I wanted to give a glance into parts of my life I usually don’t reveal, with a lot of questions and observations about what has happened and being left wondering why. ‘Atom Bomb’ is a statement – that I’m back and ready to put my imprint on today’s pop sound.”
You can listen to “Atom Bomb” on platforms like Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
