Shane Heilman Psalm Project

Shane Heilman, a former high school principal turned visionary music artist, proudly announces the release of the first single “Psalm 47” from his latest Psalms Project album, “Volume 6 – Psalms 47-55”, which is out today.

The Psalms Project signifies a remarkable evolution from a local church initiative, to an international worship music phenomenon, seamlessly blending contemporary music with ancient Psalms.

Psalm 47 (Shout to God) encourages vibrant and joyful praise to God through music. The text explicitly calls for skilful playing with loud instruments, clapping and shouting. The Psalm celebrates the greatness of God, emphasizing His sovereignty over all nations.

As the Psalms Project releases their new composition, Psalm 47 (Shout to God), featuring a trumpet, aligns with the exuberant theme of loud praise. This release reflects a commitment to providing Biblical worship music that encompasses divine expressions, from energetic to loud to soothing and contemplative.

Psalm 47 features musician Chris Heesch, and was produced by Jordan Merritt.

Volume 6 is the last in the series, and it differs from previous recordings in that this is the first time Heilman brought in a producer.

Heilman hired producer Jordan Merritt, who created a full arrangement for each Psalm 47-55. Merritt brought so many of his talents to the table, with more production control, and some co-production between Heilman and Merret. Songs were recorded live in the studio.

Heilman’s overall objective is to guide the listener to experience the Psalms like they never have before, and really learn them. By setting all 150 Psalms to music in their entirety, the listener can experience true encounter and have an experience that goes beyond mere listening.

Ultimately, the goal is to inspire a journey of sanctification that brings glory to God through the power and resonance of the Psalms set to music.

Shane Heilman’s personal journey is one marked by faith and transformation. Leaving behind a thriving career in education, Heilman dedicated himself to The Psalms Project, initially a modest church endeavor. Over 12 years, this leap of faith has resulted in seven albums, thousands of CD and album downloads, and millions of streams worldwide.
