Froogle Calls Our Attention with “Smoke Signals”

Date:

Within seconds, Froogle’sSmoke Signals” has me spinning from Queens of the Stone Age, to Tame Impala to Lenny Kravitz. The Houston producer first jumped onto the scene at his high school’s lunch tables, busting out “dirty south hip-hop beats” to his fellow fourteen year olds.

“Smoke Signals” follows previous releases from this year “I’m Ready” and “No One Knows.” The song is layered with fuzzy pop, anarchy energy, and witty lyrics and is inspired by a more modern, genre-less style.

“I’m from Texas
Get the f- off my lawn”

As Froogle puts it, “This song is made from the perspective of a person on a crashing airplane where I’m the pilot and we land on a deserted island where the beginning of the album takes place.”  Wherever Froogle is taking us, we want to go.
