Peyton Gilliand Delivers with a Rock and Roll Roast on “Lipstick and Lithium”

Date:

Peyton Gilliand is a 20-year-old rock artist transforming the future of her genre with powerful vocal magnetism and rich lyrical landscapes. Her latest single “Lipstick and Lithium” is a revenge-laced anthem hellbent on humbling the players of this world. Paired with a music video that captures Gilliand in a mesmerizing array of dark, atmospheric backgrounds “Lipstick and Lithium” is an all-enthralling reverie on taking the power back.

“Lipstick and Lithium” opens with a dynamically electric riff that captures your attention with hauntingly slow plunges. The track further evolves with melodic strokes of percussion swimming beneath Gilliand’s powerhouse vocal that strikes the track like lightning. She sings, “You couldn’t even handle my stilettos/ You got tattoos so you think you know pain.” “Lipstick and Lithium” is a singeing roast on bad boy culture as Gilliand flips the script on a tumultuous relationship.

Revealing more on her track, Gilliand admits, “Lipstick and Lithium is my personal favorite track off of the EP. It is so fun and sassy. It’s about giving the bad guy a taste of his own medicine.  It’s about finding the guy with his chest puffed out and playing with his ego, bringing him back down to earth in a way.”

“Lipstick and Lithium” was produced by the acclaimed Mads who has previously worked with Imagine Dragons. “Lipstick and Lithium” was released on Gilliand’s Lipstick and Lithium EP, featuring more of her favorite releases. At only 20 years old, the future burns bright for Peyton Gilliand.
