Kat Cunning delivers “Bedroom Angel”

Date:

For fans of: HAIM, Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent

Kat Cunning (they/them) releases sultry and edgy, indie pop track “Bedroom Angel.” The queer, non-binary, Greek-American provides a celebratory, queer anthem that everyone can enjoy.

“When I wrote “Bedroom Angel” I imagined being closeted in a small town and praying at the foot of my bed for some sapphic apparition to burst through the ceiling and show me the way,” says Cunning. “I hope this song serves as redemption and celebration bursting through your ceiling to give you that same nudge toward owning what you want and who you are. Queer people are angels, pleasure is political, and you are my favorite ghost.”

Cunning provides validation of celebration and pleasure in their latest release. They pull you in by the collar for an intimate dance with their lyrical play on the complex influence between religion and the queer experience. The kinky undertones intertwine religious imagery with BDSM play romanticized by the track’s dreamy melody.

“Dying for your love
Cover me in roses make it biblical
Show me how you you fly n tie you up
My Bedroom Angel”

Up next, Kat Cunning has a performance at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles on Wednesday, November 15th.
