Only the poets are a band that have grown leaps and bounds from playing to small rooms in and around Reading in 2017 to playing to rooms of thousands, with their fan base rapidly expanding after supporting Louis Tomlinson on his 2022 Walls Tour. Their adoring and loyal fan base showed their undeniable support of the band’s endeavours through this whole intimate gig from cheering on all the band members for minutes at an immense volume as lead singer Tommy thanked them all for being a part of the band, and gave them each their own moment in the spotlight.
The band enjoy being part of the audience as they perform some of their set, and as when they entered the middle of the room fans lit up the circle they stood in for the band preform their newest single “every god I pray to” and announce that it would be released on the 10th of November. The excitement in the room skyrocketed as lead singer Tommy hinted to the biggest London date yet to be taking place next year leaving fans exited to see their favourite band again in the near future.
With the good variety and combination of songs that they are building upon, their set lists are able to incorporate this songs that are more sentimental to both the band and audience, with their song “waking in the dark” speaking about mental health struggles and encouraging their supporters to reach out when they are struggling. As well as this they have songs that everybody can sing, dance and celebrate along with such as one of their latest releases “jump”, “emotional” and one of their most well known songs “looking at you” which they have just rereleased to sound more like their recent stuff.
With this band rising rapidly in Spotify streams and in audience size be sure to catch them in these intimate gigs while you still can!
