Starting off Saturday was Athens, GA native and country newcomer, Gavin Adcock. Shortly following with the sun setting behind the fairgrounds, Chase Matthew continued to set the tone for the evening, delivering a charismatic performance that immediately won over the audience with singing TikTok viral hit “Love You Again” and fan favorites “Come Get Your Memory” and “County Line.”

Emerging country star, Bailey Zimmerman, came out eagerly and excitedly while singing his hit song “Religiously.” The entire crowd sang with every note he belted out. From “Fall In Love,” “Where It Ends,” and his first success, “Rock and a Hard Place,” BZ is showing the country world he is here for a good time and hopefully a long time.

As the anticipation reached its peak, Parker McCollum, the Texas-born singer-songwriter, delivered a powerful set that demonstrated why he is one of the most exciting acts in country music today. His chart-topping hits like “Pretty Heart” and “To Be Loved By You” showcased his rich, distinctive voice and evocative songwriting.

The second day dawned with the promise of more exceptional country music. Baylee Littrell kicked off the day and brought a breath of fresh air with his unique blend of pop and country. The son of Backstreet Boy, Brian Littrell, Baylee proved his mettle with his heartwarming performance. He demonstrated his stage presence, proving that he’s much more than a last name.

Jon Langston charmed the crowd with his heartfelt tunes. He brought a burst of energy to the stage with his modern take on country music. His songs had the audience on their feet, dancing and singing along. Langston’s high-energy set was the perfect way to keep the party going.

Tracy Lawrence, a country legend, took the stage next. His timeless hits like “Made in America” and “Find “Out Who Your Friends Are” had the entire crowd singing along all while bringing waves of nostalgia to the audience. The decades of experience and love for his craft were palpable as he commanded the stage. Lawrence gave a special shoutout to night 2 headliner, Lainey Wilson, stating that she had opened up for him in the past and he knew that one day he would be opening for her. That day had come.

The excitement escalated as the evening progressed, leading up to the sensational headlining act, Lainey Wilson. With her signature flared black pant and a voice that’s as powerful as it is soulful, Wilson brought an electrifying energy to the stage. Hits like “Things a Man Oughta Know,” “Hold “My Halo,” and her most recent radio single “Watermelon Moonshine”, Wilson had the crowd dancing and singing at the top of their lungs.

From the legends like Tracy Lawrence to the rising stars like Lainey Wilson, Parker McCollum, and Bailey Zimmerman, Rome River Jam 2023 a country music celebration for the ages, proving once again that country music has the power to bring people together, no matter where they come from or where they’re headed.
