Belot releases the final piece of today’s EP release The Good Life with single “Ain’t It A Shame“.
“Ain’t It A Shame” elicits pop in many contours and illustrates her continued journey spearheading the awkward pop movement. Belot’s raw honesty and relatable lyrics keep her fans coming back track after track.
“The song is about when people who had previously doubted your abilities, and or overlooked you, can come out of the woodwork later on, when they’ve realized they’ve missed the boat, or in this sassy song’s case, the yacht.
it appeared to me that everyone, all at varying stages of their careers, had someone that had let them down, or snubbed them in some regard. Someone who in principle would never get a cut of them or their art. It’s a tale as old as time, and I wanted to write about it.” – Belot
What a shame to think about who would shed any doubt on Belot as we sit here with a front row seat to her delicious, sugar coated banger after banger. It’s a good reminder to be good to those around you – everyone’s role is part of the puzzle piece.
“Over the years, I’d made a lot of friends in the music industry, fellow artists, writers and producers. I always think about how lucky I am to be put in a room with people who all have the same obsession. It’s like summer camp on steroids.” – Belot
The London singer-songwriter has dropped nuggets of the project this year with “Get This”, The Good Life”, “Cool Whip”, and “V.I.P.”, “Ain’t It A Shame” perfectly wraps up Belot’s The Good Life.
