Great Good Fine Ok are desperate for answers on “Will We Make It?”

Date:

The synth-pop duo of Luke Moellman and Jon Sandler, better known as Great Good Fine Ok, have been captivating millions of listeners with their music for the past decade. Luke’s technical skills and production experience best complement Jon’s lyrical and vocal abilities, making tracks like “You’re the One for Me,” “Find Yourself,” and “Take It or Leave It” pure works of art – and fan favorites. Naturally, the duo has experimented and evolved over the years, crafting remixes for artists like Twenty One Pilots and incorporating elements from inspirations like Steely Dan and Prince into recent releases. Their upcoming EP, which is due out next year, will showcase their updated sound while also maintaining their signature style.

On their new single, “Will We Make It?” Great Good Fine Ok give further introduction to the new EP. The track includes pulses of synth and layers of rhythms to create a light, cosmic texture that helps the lyrics move along. With soaring vocals, Jon delivers lines like, “You treated me just like another one / How will I feel the second you’re gone?” and “We might as well be off if we’re never turned on,” tapping into the uncertainties that can be found in relationships old or new. It leads up to the main point of the track in the chorus where Jon asks, “I really need to know right now, will we make it?” You can check it out in the action-packed video below, which was directed by Eliot Charof.

About “Will We Make It?” Great Good Fine Ok mention,

“A couples’ therapist once told my partner and me that if ‘you’re confused’ to ‘halt action.’ We became paralyzed by uncertainty obeying this advice. You can get so far into a downward spiral that you forget how you even got there – wish you could rewind and ‘analyze the video.’ You can yell, ‘I really need to know right now, will we make it,’ but there’s no one who can really answer that question, and you can never know for sure anyway. One thing is certain, though: Life is just a string of days, and if you’re unhappy for a lot of them, you might want to make a change.”

You can listen to “Will We Make It?” on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
