Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, Irene has swiftly garnered attention across various social media platforms, captivating her 2.7 million TikTok followers with her laid-back and clever approach to short-form content. Endearingly known as “Asian Rapunzel” due to her remarkable knee-length hair, Irene humorously incorporates this distinct trait into her content. Nonetheless, her true passion lies in music, and she is now ready to pursue her musical aspirations professionally.

Originally gaining recognition through successful collaborations in 2020 and 2021, such as “Cross My Mind” with over 1 million streams and “Falling” with over 900k streams, Irene’s solo debut has been highly anticipated by her fans. Her earlier projects, in collaboration with her friends SeoulFly, exceeded expectations, showcasing her impressive musical and dance talents and leaving the audience eager for more.

Crafted and penned by Los Angeles-based artists Chando Yun, Benjamin Reath Neilson, and Jamie Daniel Miller, “mmm idk” ensures to encapsulate the vibrant vibes of sunny California. The song delves into themes of escapism and finding a sense of stability, a narrative artfully depicted in the forthcoming music video directed by Christian Lanza, scheduled for release on September 25th.
