A Beacon School Offers A Glimpse Into His Dreamy World With “Alone”

Date:

The brainchild of New York-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Patrick J. Smith, A Beacon School, has been a beam of artistic innovation and sonic exploration since its inception in 2009. With a rich discography that weaves together elements of dreamy pop, lush shoegaze, and intricate electronic arrangements, the artist has carved a unique niche in the music scene. Now, after a five-year hiatus, A Beacon School is back with a new track titled “Alone“, offering us a glimpse into his entrancing world.

Smith’s musical journey as A Beacon School has been nothing short of fascinating. From a humble home-recorded demo single in 2011 to a self-titled EP released in 2012, the project steadily evolved. His collaborations with bands like Modern Rivals and Bluffing, as well as his current work with Max Savage of Parquet Courts, have contributed to the richness of A Beacon School’s sound.

In 2018, A Beacon School’s album “Cola” was released by Grind Select, receiving critical acclaim and slowly amassing a devoted global following. The album’s success led to an expanded vinyl edition in 2019, in partnership with Fat Possum’s House Arrest imprint, and garnered over 50 million streams. The journey continued with tours alongside El Ten Eleven and Ruby Haunt, as well as placements of A Beacon School’s music on popular TV shows like “Hacks” and “Shrinking.”

As A Beacon School prepares to release his first full-length album in five years, titled “yoyo”, anticipation is building among fans and music enthusiasts alike. This upcoming release promises to be an untainted exploration of the unconscious artistic self and the fascinating concept of time oscillation.

In the meantime, he has gifted us with a taste of what’s to come in the form of their new track, “Alone.” The song beautifully captures that pivotal moment when, despite a series of setbacks and disappointments, a faint glimmer of hope emerges. It’s the moment when you feel your luck might finally be turning, and you cling to that hope with all your might. With its dreamy melodies and evocative lyrics, “Alone” is a sonic journey that invites listeners to immerse themselves in the world of A Beacon School and the emotions it evokes.

Before the release of the upcoming album “yoyo”, “Alone” serves as a mesmerizing prelude, offering us a glimpse into the captivating world of A Beacon School, where dreamy soundscapes and heartfelt emotions intertwine to create something truly magical.
