BANNERS shines bright with new single, “C’est La Vie”

Date:

“I’ve had this song stuck in my head ever since I wrote it,” BANNERS says.

Fresh off of the overwhelmingly positive reception of his latest singles “Have You Ever Loved Someone” and “Name In Lights,” Liverpool-based musician BANNERS delivers yet another single. Upbeat and uplifting, “C’est La Vie” is an enthusiastic and optimistic take on the seemingly negative French saying.

The track is undeniably pop, accompanied by BANNERS’ – also known as Micheal Joseph Nelson – unmistakably friendly and powerful voice. Beginning brightly, the single maintains a cheery sound as it copes with daily negativity, with the assurance that despite the hardships, there is someone to come home to and at least experience the good and bad of life together. This is reflected in the chorus lines “Come on baby, let it be // I’ll take anything that comes if you’ll take me” and “All I gotta hear at night is you love me.” The bridge showcases Nelson’s vocal falsetto as he sings “Twist and shout // There’s nothing that you’re in that you can’t get out.” The final chorus picks up instrumentally so much that the last line really drives the song’s message home.

Nelson explains, “C’est La Vie is all that life throws at you. Being alright with it because you’re doing it with people that you love.”
