Young the Giant brought ‘American Bollywood’ to Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater

Date:

Young the Giant brought their recent release American Bollywood to Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater. By the time the band went on stage, the storm, which had left the city humid and muggy, had rolled out. The seats were filled. The grass was packed. Sameer Gadhia, the lead singer, came out with a gorgeous white suit that had unique yellow embroidery. He indubitably sets a new standard of class and performs marvelously in the southern heat.

The band followed Gafhia’s lead with passion throughout the entire set by mesmerizing the crowd. Their very lyrics and melodic chord changes seemed to ignite a spark within the people, uniting everyone in a shared euphoria.

Young the Giant was generous in their setlist, playing newer songs like “The Walk Home,” “Dancing in the Rain,” and older hits “Superposition,” and “Cough Syrup.” People from every corner of the venue were glued to the stage and quick to lift their lights when “Firelight” came on. Gadhia has a beautiful way of providing emotions to be poured out though one song and winding you back up for the next.

Catch Young the Giant this year to experience their perfected craft.
