Falling In Reverse cover nu-metal classic, “Last Resort,” as a piano ballad

Date:

Falling In Reverse
have taken their fans by surprise with their latest release (and it’s a song we all know). Following the success of their energetic hit “Watch the World Burn,” the band has unveiled a cover of Papa Roach’s nu-metal classic, “Last Resort.” Departing from their usual style, Falling In Reverse transforms the aggressive anthem into a haunting piano ballad, showcasing their versatility and willingness to explore new musical territories. In the world of music, covers have become a popular way for artists to pay tribute to their influences while adding their unique twist to beloved classics.

In contrast to Falling In Reverse’s typically eclectic compositions, their version of “Last Resort” remains consistently somber and slow-paced throughout. The melancholic atmosphere is emphasized by the delicate piano melodies. Accompanying the stripped-down arrangement is a visually striking music video, displaying frontman Ronnie Radke wandering through a desolate city. The contrast between the abandoned surroundings and Radke’s melancholy piano-playing enhances the emotional impact of the cover.

“I wanted to reimagine one of the biggest rock songs of the last 20 years, because lyrically, it is so powerful and resonates,” says Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke. “I got the blessing from [PAPA ROACH singer] Jacoby [Shaddix] and I think that PAPA ROACH are one of the nicest, humble, and most down-to-earth bands to date and it inspires me to keep going, since they have been so successful for so many years. This is me paying homage in the best way I know how.”

Falling In Reverse’s version of “Last Resort” stands in stark contrast to the original, trading in aggression for introspection. The straightforward approach allows the heartfelt lyrics to take center stage, amplifying the sense of vulnerability and introspection.
