Singer-songwriter Lily Kelso released her new single “Sirens,” a sizzling tune dropping just in time for summer.
The single pairs a driving-down-the-coast vibe that’s reflective of her home base in sunny California with ripping guitar licks and lyrics that give it an after-dark feel, fueled with anticipation that makes the listener almost want to get up, get in the car, and get going. “Empty shoes on the front porch, one foot on the platform…”
With ethereal vocals that could lock you in a trance, “Sirens” is a fitting name for Kelso’s latest single and a proper addition to her budding discography. For Kelso, writing serves as a “time capsule” and fuels her sound with a sense of nostalgia and reflection, reminiscent of classic acts like The Cranberries and modern indie titans such as Phoebe Bridgers, whom Kelso recalls as major influences on her work.
Kelso stepped into the indie scene in 2021 with a self-titled EP Lily Kelso, and her next EP is expected to be released this summer.
