The last time we checked in with Rachel Bochner, she was ready to have a good time. On “If I’m Gunna Be Sad (I Might As Well Look Hot Doing It),” which came out in April, Rachel showed up for herself even though she wasn’t feeling at her best. Still, she took control and made the most out of her situation, knowing that heartbreak is not a good look. In the end, it seemed as if Rachel was here for all the drama, which she tells us about on her latest release.
On “Here For The Drama,” Rachel delivers a playful alt-pop track about the fun of messing shit up. Mixing fuzzy guitars with her sweet vocals, she captures the chaos and the splendor found in dramatic situations and relationships, making it a vibrant listen. She sings, “We all have that one friend / Love her but it’s always something / Ten missed texts / Trust fund ex” and “Everybody’s staring but I don’t care / I’m here for the drama / Can’t get enough,” excited to be a part of it all. You can check it out below.
Telling us more about “Here For The Drama,” Rachel shares,
“Sometimes my life feels like a chaotic reality TV show, and ‘Here For The Drama’ is the perfect theme song. I wrote it as a reminder that when life gets messy, sometimes it can be more fun to lean in, embrace it, and enjoy the show. From questionable decisions like texts we wish we could unsend or the round of tequila shots that nobody needed, it’s a song that celebrates being young and stupid.”
You can find “Here For The Drama,” along with previous single “If I’m Gunna Be Sad (I Might As Well Look Hot Doing It),” on Rachel’s upcoming EP. Until the project drops this summer, you can listen to both singles on platforms like Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
