Loveless Delves into the Depths of Mental Health Challenges on New track “I Hope I’m Not Sick”

Date:

LA rock duo and viral TikTokers (2m+ followers), Loveless, have released their latest single, “I Hope I’m Not Sick” through BMG/Rise Records. Consisting of vocalist/producer Julian Comeau and multi-instrumentalist Dylan Tirapelli-Jamail, the track showcases Loveless’ distinctive fusion of emo, alt-pop, and energetic hard rock.

The duo’s journey towards success kicked off as they gained recognition for their exhilarating online covers due to the Covid lockdown. Their rendition of Elley Duhé’s “MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT” made an impressive debut, storming the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart at an impressive #2 position. Their unique spin on Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” caught the attention of the artist herself, while their emo/pop-punk adaptation of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” went viral, solidifying their growing fanbase.

“I Hope I’m Not Sick” delves into the depths of mental health challenges, exploring the emotions encountered while navigating anxiety and depression. Comeau’s poignant lyrics capture the experience of pretending to be fine while internally battling excruciating mental anguish. The honesty and vulnerability in the lyrics are commendable, as they shed light on the fear of the never-ending struggle with mental illness.

“Sick came from a time when I thought my anxiety and depression were at their worst,” Comeau explains. “For years, I pretended I was fine and that everything was okay, even when I was dealing with excruciating mental anguish and the fear that it was never-ending. Writing this song allowed me to break free from that fear and accept that my mental illness is a part of me that I need to deal with head-on, and not be afraid to face it. I hope it brings others a similar solace.”

In conjunction with the new track, Loveless has released a music video for “I Hope I’m Not Sick.”

Currently, Loveless is concluding their sold-out North American tour with upcoming shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Following these performances, the duo will grace the stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago during the summer before embarking on a world tour encompassing Australia, Europe, and the UK.
