Currents Guide Us Home In Nashville

On June 4, 2023 American metalcore band Currents brought their The Death We Seek Tour to retro themed venue Eastside Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee. Supporting acts for this tour include Like Moths to Flames and Foreign Hands  as well as support from a Nashville local band Bitter Breath.

As Foreign Hands walked on stage it was evident that they had a very large fan base in Nashville. Fans began screaming as the blue lights lit up the silhouettes of each band member. Formed in Wilmington, Delaware in 2018 this five piece band is most known for their insane breakdowns, stage presence, and heavy riffs. As vocalist, Tyler Norris gave it his all during their eight song set, it was clear if you came into Eastside Bowl unsure of Foreign Hands, you would leave remembering them for a lifetime. Performing eight songs, they played “Tearing Down Your Reality,” “Cardiac Winter,” and closed out the night for “Separation Souvenir.” This band is really going places and fast, you will want to catch a show if you ever have the chance!

Originating in 2010 out of Columbus Ohio, Like Moths to Flames was on the stage and ready to provide a high energy experience like no other. This 4 piece band immediately captivated the crowd, and not one body was still in the venue. Releasing 5 studio albums the most recent in 2020 titled No Eternity in Gold LMTF played a nine song set that fans did not want to end. Opening with “Ameliorate” they also played several fan favorites including “I Solemnly Swear,” “Serpent Herders,” and closed out with “Bury Your Pain.” Vocalist Chris Roetter, had fans hyped up and ready for the headliner Currents as thanked the band for allowing them to be on tour. As the final note played, the band waved to the crowd, and it was time for our headliner of the night, Currents.

Finally the moment we had been waiting for as Currents takes the stage. American metalcore band, Currents formed in 2011 out of Fairfield, Connecticut. Most known for heavy riffs, and vocalist Brian Wille’s insane vocal range and fiery energy. While Wille alternated between clear melodic and earth shattering vocals fans were chanting the lyrics at the top of their lungs. With the most recent album The Death We Seek released in 2023, its safe to say they are not slowing down anytime soon. During their 90 minute set they performed multiple fan favorites that kept fans on their feet. Opening with song “The Death We Seek” they also performed “Shattered,” “Forever Marked,” and closed out with “Apnea.” Its clear Currents is here to stay, and has quickly made a name for themselves in the metal community since openings for several major tours around the world.The Death We Seek Tour began on May 11th in Worcester, Massachusetts and will hit several major cities including Denver, Dallas, and Tampa before closing out on June 10th at the Festival Au Lac Granby in Granby, Quebec.
